Energy Advice East is a regional service led by Citizens Advice Essex and funded by UK Power Networks through its Energy Affordability Programme (ED2–ED3). The project exists to ensure that no household is left behind in the transition to a fair, affordable, and low-carbon energy future.
We work with a network of local Citizens Advice offices and community partners across Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, and Buckinghamshire, providing consistent, high-quality advice and support to households experiencing or at risk of fuel poverty.
Every case is unique. We work alongside clients to stabilise their finances, reduce energy costs, and build long-term resilience. Beyond direct advice, our Energy Champions programme trains trusted frontline workers—from schools, health, and housing—to spot the signs of fuel poverty and make secure referrals to our service.
The project supportsaims to support 48,000 clients with in depth over five years, with additional reach through general advice and Energy Champion engagement. All activity is aligned with UK Power Networks’ “No One Left Behind” strategy and the Citizens Advice commitment to tackling inequality, improving energy affordability, and helping communities thrive.
